Established in 1993, Highland Oaks Elementary School serves students in grades two through five. The school offers a variety of academic courses, such as language arts, math, physical education, science and social studies. It has a Four R's environmental club that stands for reduce, reuse, recycle and replant. The school also operates a reading club that encourages pleasurable reading through a year-long reading competition. Its technology enrichment class provides instruction in slide show creation and class logo design. The school s parent-teacher association sponsors several educational and enriching programs for students. It provides a range of supplies to students, which includes glue sticks, color pencils, tissue boxes, pens, scissors, spiral notebooks, markers and sharpeners. Located in Memphis, Tenn., Highland Oaks Elementary School is administered by Shelby County Schools.
