What you should know about urgent care You do not need to be an Allina Health patient to be seen at urgent care. Everyone, from babies to mature adults, can be seen. Walk-in care, no appointment needed Urgent care treats unexpected health care needs on a walk in basis. When visiting the urgent care you will be seen in the order of arrival and seriousness of your illness or injury. Your wait time will depend on the severity of your needs and the number of other patients at the same urgent care location. Copays and costs All major health plans are accepted. Health insurance plans define and pay differently for urgent care and clinic/office visits. Urgent care charges and copays may be different than what you pay for a clinic/office visit. Copays for urgent care are likely to be lower than hospital emergency department (ED) copays.
