- The first Jessup's open on Daytona Beach in 1931 by Charles Jessup. Charles Jessup had two daughters, One name Ruth Jessup Harshaw.She had two boys Roger and Eugene. Roger stayed to run Jessup's of Dayona and Eugene Harshaw moved to Melbourne in 1975 and Opened up Jessup's of Melbourne in March of 1976

Recently I visited Jessup's to pick up a piece of jewelry for my girlfriend and I had not decided on which piece to get because it was christmas as well as our anniversary and I wanted something special and unique. A wonderful (am i allowed to add great looking?) young lady named Candy who works there showed me countless pieces of jewelry and helped me select the right piece for my lady. She could have tried to sell me the more expensive items but she didn't. She reallly tried to help me get a piece that signified what I was going for.If you are ever in Melbourne definitely visit Jessup's I spoke to the main jeweler there and he's been there for over 20 yrs. This is a great place that not only sells jewelry but also a few nice items for your house, like some salt lamps that I was shown and ended up purchasing 2 of, as they are so unique and very neat looking..
