- Our services include the following: Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs): FM Systems We offer information and guidance on use of assistive listening devices, such as amplified telephones, FM transmitter systems, and infrared systems. These systems serve as additional help in situations when hearing aids do not provide the necessary assistance. We will either order the device in which you are interested, or give you the information to order on your own. Audiometric Evaluations: Adults and Children The audiometric evaluation (audio) consists of testing with both speech and pure tones. Testing with pure tones is done to determine the amount of hearing loss for volume. Speech discrimination scores are obtained to estimate the loss of hearing pertaining to the fine-tuning ability of the ear. Battery Sales We keep a supply of batteries for you to purchase in our office. Stop in routinely for fresh batteries. Make sure to check the batteries in your hearing devices often and make sure there is no dirt, wax or debris interfering with the batteries performance. Batteries that are properly charged will make a noise (a squeal) when cupped in your hand or after it has been inserted in your ear, when you cup your hand over the hearing aid it will also make a noise. Size 10 (yellow) Size 312 (brown) Size 13 (orange) Size 675 (blue) Ear Molds: Swim Molds We fit and dispense custom swim ear plugs that keep your ears dry while swimming. Ear Molds: Custom-made Hearing Protection Earmolds Any kind of noise exposure is potentially damaging to hearing, so whether your noise exposure comes from your work environment or just mowing the lawn, custom earmolds can provide protection from noise-induced hearing loss. We also offer custom earmolds to meet the needs of musicians, hunters and pilots. Hearing Aids If you have an aid that needs repair we will be happy to take care of that for you. Many repairs can be handled in the office but if it needs to go to the manufacturer, we will loan you an aid until we can get yours back for you. To help keep your hearing aids working optimally, we offer the "Dry and Store" or "Dri-Aid". Tympanometry IMPEDANCE testing evaluates your eardrum's ability to vibrate, the pressure in the middle ear, the reflex action of the tiniest muscle in the body (stapedius), and the function of the eustachian tube. Video-Otoscopy The Video Otoscope allows patients to see, in full color, a magnified image of the examination in progress. A wide angle fiber optic lens shows the whole picture.

General Info
According to recent statistics, hearing loss affects more than 30 million Americans. Because hearing loss occurs gradually, the problem is often difficult to recognize. If you often ask people to repeat what they are saying, hear but dont understand, or turn the TV or radio up too loud, you may have a hearing loss. In addition to providing hearing evaluations, EarCare provides a wide variety of audiological services, including industrial audiological monitoring, hearing aid evaluations and dispensing, hearing aid repairs for all makes and models, and special audiological diagnostics. Hearing aids serve different purposes and needs. The goal of most hearing aid fittings is to make more speech sounds available to the listener. However, simply making sounds louder does not accomplish the goal! In 2005, most hearing aids process sounds to present specific speech information (sounds) to the listener, while reducing unwanted noises and sounds. In fact, with some hearing aid technology, such as; T-coils, FM systems, Directional Mics and Noise Reduction circuits, sometimes people wearing hearing aids can actually perceive a better speech signal than people not wearing hearing aids!
