General Info

I am a trauma therapist with over 24 years of experience, helping my clients get to the root cause of their problems that in actuality stem from experiencing traumatic events, often but not always in their childhoods. Survivors are often very proud of how negative experiences in childhood shaped some of their best qualities, and I honor that and celebrate it with them while giving them space to heal their wounds. Admitting pain doesn’t erase strength, and tending to it doesn’t mean one has to “fall apart” in the process. I am also trained in EMDR, a cutting-edge treatment that allows clients to match what they intellectually know to be true about them to how they actually feel about themselves. This helps my clients neutralize the intensity of their responses to remembering traumatic events, better handle current situations that remind them of the original traumatic events, and turn the events into memories that do not define my clients’ identities or feelings of self-worth.
