Stopped in during a 2 week vacation/road trip to the East Coast in July 2011. Excellent food, great prices & friendly service. Well worth a try if you like BBQ & you're in the area. Will definitely stop back if we're in the area again.

Wonderful!! My husband stopped by to pick up dinner for us. The pulled pork (we got the plain pulled pork with the "virginia" sauce on the side) was amazing. Very moist, perfectly smokey and wonderfully flavorful!! The beans and the coleslaw were also great. The tomato based sauce (I think it is the "virginia) has a nice little kick - but still slightly sweet. All in all a great meal and a great value!!

I was in a hurry and stopped in for a couple of sandwichs. My first time at Carter's, and they were delicious. Made a special trip this weekend and got the platters, fantastic. The vinegar base barbeque tastes like what I grew up with in Georgia. Finally a great barbeque restaurant in Mechanicsville. Thank you!

This is the best bbq around! It's so good that I wanted it again the next day and I never even feel that way about my most favorite restaurants!! OMG! The pulled pork is amazing! The potato salad is the best I've ever had in my life!!! Everything is delicious!!!! You must try this restaurant!

Best BBQ and ribs i've ever had in the area. Finally, somebody in Richmond makes good BBQ!
