Located in Mechanicsburg, Pa., the United Methodist Home for Children is a home for orphans and a refuge for children who are the victims of a negative social environment. The organization provides emergency shelter and residential treatment for more than 100 children of campus in Cumberland County in Pennsylvania. Children are referred to the United Methodist Home for Children primarily by county children and youth agencies and family courts. The organization offers three service programs, including the United Methodist Home for Children Residential Care and individual and family counseling clinics that provide therapeutic assistance for children and youth. Its United Methodist Home for Children Residential Care program provides intensive, long-term residential care for boys and girls from age eight through 17.
