Established in 1963, PRS, formerly known as Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services, is a nonprofit organization that offers community-based support services and training for individuals with psychiatric disabilities. It also provides day program, case management, employment, rehabilitative support and residential services. The organization offers treatments for various mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia, depression and bipolar disorders. PRS helps in the development of social relationships. It has a staff of coordinators, trainers, counselors and employment specialists. The organization maintains an administration department that offers accounting and facility and payroll management services. It additionally provides career counseling, job assessment and work adjustment training services. The organization helps in the development of independent living skills. PRS maintains one of its locations in Reston, Va.
