McKee Elementary School is a public institution that offers educational and extracurricular programs to students in grades kindergarten through five. Located in McKee, Ky., the school has a student strength of more than 300 students. Its curriculum is aligned to Kentucky Core Content, Program of Studies, and the Kentucky Learner Goals and Expectations. The students take part in a number of talent shows, poster and essay contests and athletic events throughout the year. All the classrooms have an Internet accessible computer and the institution s school improvement plan mandates that Internet and e-mail usage be a component of the instructional process. The school also has a computer lab that is utilized by all classrooms, allowing for additional supervised use of the Internet, participation in virtual field trips via the Internet, Web quests, and other group and individual activities. The school is affiliated to the Jackson County District.
