Good Lord what a horrifying experience! We brought a car in for clutch replacement in Dec 2015. As of Nov 2016 (nearly a year), he still has it! He said he needed us to pay him up front so he could order the parts. ($667.00). Still never fixed it, but did tear it apart. parts of this car are everywhere in his shop. We tried to have it towed out to have it properly repaired by a reputable mechanic, and take a loss on our $667.00, but he has it barricaded on his lot and will not move the vehicles blocking it in (you can go see it if you like). He threatened to charge us $5500 in storage fees when we pushed to get him to give it to us. How ridiculous is that? It is barricaded and he won;t give it to us, because he claims he "stands by his work" when we demand to know why he won't give it back to us. Roger, you cannot force us to have our car repaired there! So now we have had to hire an attorney to try to get the car back.

This business is very unprofessional and the owner is condescending and rude. We are pretty sure he has no working capital, which is why he needed us to pay him up front (a lesson we learned). We believe he used our $667 to pay for someone else's repair. We also suspect that he may have taken parts off our car and used them for someone else, as well. There is no telling what we will get back, if we ever get it! So my teenager still does not have the car to drive!

While this was all going on, we made the grave mistake of bringing our old pick-up here for repair. The engine blew, and we wanted to replace with a used one. Same problems occurred. We paid $1100 up front and had to call him multiple times per week to keep him working on it. It got to where it seemed as though he avoided our calls! Finally after 7 or 8 weeks, he said it was done. We paid $1000 more ($2100 total for used engine). The first time my daughter drove the truck after he fixed it, it started smoking. My husband checked it out. It was bone dry! No water, no coolant. The hose between heater core and radiator was not even connected! The engine was not the correct size for our truck, the oil dipstick had been cut off, the oil filter was a tiny Toyota filter, it was used, and the oil was black! My husband had to repair all of this AFTER we got it back, BEFORE my daughter could even drive it! But hey, at least we got this one back!

The name is inaccurate. Roger Dunn, the owner, is a very nice man. That's the good part. Do not make the mistake of taking your car here however, if my experience will help you. Here's why: From January 27 through May 2, ABT has had my car and failed to repair the transmission. Four tows, three at my expense. The tranny still leaks. Communicating via phone is very iffy; often the phone goes to voice mail, and calls are unreturned. However, that did not keep ABT from charging the full amount BEFORE rebuilding after a diagnosis. Think twice before going here, and run as fast as you can to a shop with a consistently positive record.

I'm a big advocate of supporting small business, especially family owned and operated ones and with Absolute Best Transmissions that is exactly what you get. Down home service at great prices. Roger recently did some transmission work in my car and during a test drive he noticed my breaks were going bad and offered to repair them at a great low price! This shop is great!

Thanks!

Great shop!! Way better than Aamco! Roger has been in the business a long time and knows what he is talking about and gets to the root of the problem. Not only did he fix my transmission, he noticed other things with my car that would cause further issues and notified me of it and said we had caught it before it messed anything else up! Thanks Roger for not only saving me time, but saving me money!

Great service

I have been going to this shop since they opened up. I have tried to go to other shops and the service was horrible, but Roger not only fixed my car he educated me on what was going on eternally with my car. The service and the repair was great! The price was reasonable too. Absolute best service, absolute best prices, absolute best shop in town!!

ABT gave me the best service I could ask for. Roger is very competent and explained everything that could have possibly been the problem with my vehicle. It took a few weeks to complete but I was made aware of this upfront. At a very competitive and reasonable cost I drove away with a better running transmission than the day I bought the vehicle.I highly recommend ABT and will continue to use their services for future needs.

The reviews I read online played a big part in my choosing this shop for my transmission repairs. If you are looking for a shop which will fix your vehicle the first time and promptly I would advise you to look elsewhere.

I bought a 2007 Ford a year ago and suspected transmission problems. It recently went out and fortunately I was about a mile from Absolute Best Transmission Service. I had researched the best place to go for someone else a year ago and remembered it so I went straight there. They fixed it quickly and it shifts as smooth as "butter" now.....better than it has ever driven and much quieter. People come all over for Roger Dunn, the Manager, because he has such a good reputation for being honest. This will be the only place touching my car from now on. We are so fortunate to have them here in McDonough.

I have brought my truck here f...

I have brought my truck here for the past 3 years for simple transmission service at $60 per year. The owner/manager is old school but that is a good thing because he has seen everything there is to see in a transmission and really knows what he is talking about. He believes in educating his customers about what his mechanics are going to do and how. Put it this way, a transmission shop probably makes the bulk of there money rebuilding transmissions; not basic service. These guys could careless if you only spend $60 per year or $2000 (Just a guess) on a rebuild; they are going to give you great service. I will not take my truck to another shop.

Unbelievable! Best Repair Shot Experience Ever!

I took my wife's 06 Chevy Tahoe into these guys expecting the typical experience. (meaning the bad attitudes and expected to be talked down to that I have come to realize is the norm in this industry). David and Roger greeted me with a smile and made me feel right at home. Not only did I walk away knowing my car was in good hands, but I picked up the vehicle less than two days later with a transmission running better than the day we drove it off of the dealership lot. On top of that, Roger found that he was able to same me money on a few of the parts that I had been quoted. I walked away with a transmission that was $800 cheaper than the closest quote. Thank You ABT, you will have a customer for years to come!

The Name Says It All!!!

These guys are great!!! They took the time to do everything right. We had a couple of people try to fix the transmission in our 1995 Mazda 626 and no one could get it right. These guys did an excellent job with rebuilding the entire transmission. They even made sure that every single part in the transmission correct. This transmission was tricky because the previous mechanics did not use the right parts and they made sure everything was correct (even fixing all the other people's mistakes at no additional cost)! Great communication and great group of guy who really care about getting the job done right! We would recommend them to anyone, especially people with Mazda 626 issues because they take their time and know what they are doing. They also stand behind their work with a 1 year (12,000 mile) warranty at no additional cost. No other transmission shops we talked to offered more than a 3 to 6 months warranty. An exceptional experience!

Excellent Service and Excellent Job!

I took my Honda to Absolute Best transmissions about a month ago because I was having transmission problems. After calling numerous transmissions shops, I learned Absolute Best Transmissions had the best prices in the Atlanta. I was extremely pleased with the fast and excellent customer service I received. I would definitely recommend using Absolute Best Transmissions to anyone with any type of transmission problems.

Great job!

Absolute Best repaired my son's 1997 Ford Explorer and did an excellent job. Their service personnel were professional, the repair was completed on time and the price was far below other repair shops I've dealt with in the past. I would highly recommend them.

execptional service

I went to a few transmission shops before finding Absolute Best Transmission. The prices at the other shops were unreal, the also treated me like I didn't know what I was talking about. At Absolute Best they treated me with respect and built my transmission at a very fair price. THANK YOU

Exceptional

They rebuilt the transmission in my 2002 Eord Explorer and I could not be happier. The service and work was excellent and they did the work at a price far below any other transmission store in the area. The manager, Roger Dunn, was very honest and after a complete check advised me that my transmission was not as bad as the other shops had tried to make me believe. They will always have my business. I plan to take my other vehicles to them for other types of repairs and service.
