  External By definition, anything ‘external’ is not truly liposuction, but there are a few methods that attempt to remove fat in a non-invasive way. Some use ultrasound waves, and some use freezing. They might be appropriate for patients that do not want a surgical procedure, but the results are not as strong and it is important to modify expectations.

• Eyelid Surgery

Fillers tend to be a little bumpy after injection. As the filler sits in the lip it absorbs water and tends to swell and even out. Occasionally gentle massage will help. After two weeks, the balance of lip shrinking and filler swelling is seen. Fat from other areas can be injected into the lip. Patients sometimes do this when having liposuction on other areas. Unfortunately the fat will only remain if it takes on blood supply from the surrounding tissues. Because of motion of the lips the longevity of fat grafts here are variable.

• Otoplasty
  Understanding the Surgery The degree and location of the ear deformity will determine the exact procedure necessary. Dr. Tattelbaum will discuss this with you when he examines you during your complimentary consultation. Incisions for otoplasty are usually placed behind the ear. The skin is then elevated in some areas, and the underlying cartilage framework is exposed. The cartilage is reshaped through scoring, suturing, limited removal, or a combination of these techniques. The reshaped framework is then repositioned to achieve the best balance on the opposite side and to reduce excessive projection. The skin is re-draped, any excess skin is removed, and the incision behind the ear is closed. A gentle pressure dressing is placed on the head to put slight pressure on the ears and maintain their new position as well as to minimize swelling and excessive fluid accumulation beneath the skin. This dressing is usually removed in five to seven days. All incisions will be closed with stitches that dissolve and don’t have to be removed. You can wash your hair as soon as your head dressing is removed.
