Cooper Middle School, located in McLean, Va., provides education to more than 900 students in grades seven and eight. The school s focus program incorporates the multiple intelligences model and a learning style inventory to improve student achievement. Established in 1962, its facilities include a cafeteria, gymnasium, and industrial arts and home economics laboratories. Cooper Middle School has English, math, science, social studies, music, and physical and special education departments. The school offers various foreign language classes in French, Spanish, German and Japanese. It provides membership for art, journalism, parent book, squash and tennis clubs. Cooper Middle School is governed by Fairfax County Public Schools.
