Mint Hill Middle School is recognized under the Schools to Watch initiative and that enrolls more than 1,200 students in grades six through eight. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as social studies, math, language arts, physical education, science, French, Spanish, and career and technical education. The school also offers the English as a Second Language program for students with limited English proficiency. Its media center contains over 12,000 books, including biographies, novels, nonfictional books and reference materials. The school s media center also includes more than 15 computers for research and features a WMNR TV studio that broadcasts morning announcements each day. It provides several athletic activities, such as baseball, cheerleading, basketball, soccer, and track and field. Mint Hill Middle School is located in Matthews, N.C., and is a part of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
