Allied Purchasing is a member-owned nonprofit buying organization established in 1937. The company purchases equipment, supplies, ingredients and services for the dairy, soft drink, bottled water, water treatment and brewery industries. Orders are placed through its office and suppliers ship directly to the member. Allied Purchasing helps stabilize small business structures formed to create economies of scale for independent businesses. As a cooperative, the company provides an independent business with the chance to lower its costs, gain buying power and compete as a part of a larger entity. Allied Purchasing is headquartered in Mason City, Iowa.
