My friends and I went to this restaurant last night and had a great dinner. Service was also fantastic. Twin lobster were the best we have had in a long time. We are looking forward to go back in the future. Place was also very neat and clean. The owner came to our table and asked how everything was which was a nice touch.

I went to this restaurant for the first time last week since it was recommended by a work colleague of mine who lives in Marshfield. The restaurant is very attractive - nice and clean with a lot of windows. Ordered the wedge salad and it was excellent. I also ordered a BLT on wheat with fries and the only negative about the sandwich was that the bread was too tiny for the ingredients and I had to take out more than half of the ingredients in order to eat the sandwich. Otherwise, I liked it very much and would not mind going there again and trying more options on the menu. The prices were also very affordable.

I have been to this restaurant several times in past. Usually pretty good. Last experience was a disappointment. I had a chicken entree which was fine. My dining partner ordered fish and chips. Fish was just ok, a tad overcooked. Chips average. The meal came with a side of cole slaw. Cole slaw was definitely rancid. It had a very strong foul chemical taste. We brought it to the attention of our waitress who removed it. No apology. No offer of replacement vegetable. At the end of our meal, a person who appeared to be a manager or owner came around and inquired about how we enjoyed our meal. We told her about the cole slaw and she thanked us for letting her know. Normally I would not make a big issue out of a side of cole slaw, but I felt strongly that if somebody ingested the slaw, they could get ill.

Four of us for lunch. Food was great and so was the service. However, on our way out, our waitress asked one of my guests if there was something wrong with the service. When she answered no, that the service was excellent, the waitress asked why we had left a small tip, saying that our bill was about $47 and only $52 had been left - two twenties, two fives and two ones. My guest told her that we had left $61 but immediately gave her another $10, wanting to avoid any embarrassment as a larger party was leaving the private function room. I had already left the restaurant and couldn't explain that indeed we had left $61 for a bill that totaled $51 and change, not $47. Apparently she had mixed up the bills. This can happen, but to challenge customers as they are leaving the restaurant in front of other guests is unheard of. I don't want any trouble for this waitress, but perhaps staff should be better trained. Otherwise, food and service were great!

Finally the weather was warm and we enjoyed a great dinner on the patio! We typically don't take our kids out to eat (ages 3 & 5) because they are nightmares at restaurants and it's not a fun experience. We had hear that this is "the place to go" with kids. Our friends were right. Our kids meals came out with the appetizers and as soon as they were done eating they took off to run around "the green." My husband and I actually enjoyed our meal and conversation as we watched the kids having a ball playing at the fountains and running around...and occasionally coming back to take sips of their drinks or for their dessert. If you have kids that you dread taking to restaurants, bring them here! Loved the Lazy Man Lobster and scallops wrapped in bacon. Caesar salad was great. Want the recipe for the dressing!

Best Saint Patrick's Day party on the South Shore! Irish Step Dancers and the Irish music made battling the crowds well worth it. We will be back next year! We were able to experience spring fever on the patio and had a few drinks outside. This will be a favorite place once it warms up outside! The food was great. We had to wait a while, but we expected that because of the crowds. What a great night!

By far, the BEST St. Patrick's Day celebration on the South Shore and the perfect spot to celebrate "spring fever!" We did have to wait 40 minutes for a table, but didn't mind because we were enjoying the music and festivities so much. The patio, which we fell in love with last summer, was opened for the first time this year and it finally felt like Spring! I think everyone outside shared our sentiments - happy to be outside - enjoying a cocktail in the sun with the snow melted! The music was EXCELLENT! We heard 2 different Irish bands while we were there. The highlight was seeing an amazing group of Irish step dancers! The put on quite a show! We had corn beef and cabbage, which took about 45 minutes to come out, but it was worth it. The staff was upbeat and attentive, despite the obvious crowd. Watching two grandparents with their toddler grandchildren on the dance floor - hearing the grandfather belting out an Irish song.....a great way to spend St. Patrick's Day!

This was our third time visiting The Tavern. The food has always been EXCELLENT and we love the atmosphere and it's a great place to go with kids. The calamari is excellent and the pizzas are the best on the South Shore.

I am from Australia and this was my first time up in Boston and MArshfield and I found the Tavern a beautiful place and the service excellent. Especially 'Red', lovely lady who has a great rapport with the patrons. Great atmosphere and an excellent vibe, very different than what I am used to, but thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

The group of people I was with all agreed the food was good, nothing special but good. We went to the Tarvern a few weeks after it opened, none of us were inpressed. I realize that this is a new place but the service was worse than horrible. First, the waitress took about 15 minutes to even take our drink order but walked by our table multiple times saying she would be "right over". The place wasn't even busy, so none of us could understand what the problem was. After being there for a while our drinks came, the women I was with ordered a water, to our complete and utter shock there was an ant, yes an ANT in her water! The waitress finally came back and we showed her the "problem" with the drink her reaction was strange and basically told us to "sshhhh". Most people would have left by now BUT we decided to just stay (our fault). While she was taking our order her buzzer rang and she left in the middle of taking our orders! Shocker would be an understatement. just order out from here.

Thee new place to be on the South Shore! Went last night for dinner at 6pm and ended up there until last call! Loved the music, food, people, and the OUTSIDE bar! Praying for a warm fall so we can return to the patio a few more times!

A new favorite! I agree with all of the previous reviews. Food was delicious and creative....and very inexpensive. Location, decor, views outside - all make you feel that you are on vacation....far from Marshfield. Waitstaff is all obviously new, but did a great job. No complaints, only compliments. Will be back....a lot!

Didn't even know this restaurant existed. My wife and I saw it when were putting our groceries in the car after shopping at Roche Brothers and decided to pop in and try it out. Glad we did because it's already a favorite. I had broiled shrimp, scallops and haddock. My wife had lazy mans lobster. Delicious! Can't beat the prices! The patio looked very inviting but it was a bit too windy so we opted to sit inside. Wish we had room for dessert but will try it next time!

A wonderful addition to the town! Although it was packed, we were seated outside quickly. It seemed that word got out to many neighbors and friends that The Tavern was open and the food was great, because we saw so many familiar faces as we walked through - including many members of the Last family that are the owners. Our waitress, although it was her first day on the job, was excellent - very friendly and offered us great service. We were surprised at the quality of the food given the low prices. The scallops wrapped in bacon were the best I've had anywhere around here. The steak tips were cooked perfectly. The patio bar was PACKED but given the atmosphere, I'm not surprised. The landscaping around the outside and the green was very well done. They even have lives palm trees which makes you feel like you are far from Marshfield! The decor on the inside is warm and inviting, although I'm a huge fan of the patio - as I think most people will be. We will certainly be back!

We LOVE the new Marshfield Tavern! Everything we ordered was delicious - especially the lobster sliders! It's obvious that they hired a really great chef! The menu is quite extensive and the prices are great. This place is certain to be a new favorite on the South Shore - especially when it's warm out and you can eat outside. The patio overlooking the green is very relaxing with waterfalls and plush landscaping. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and offered exceptional service. The interior is equally inviting with photography and artwork celebrating Marshfield's history. There is a huge bar inside and outside - with flatscreen TV's, but surprisingly, they don't overpower the dining area. This was one of the best dining experiences we've had this summer. I'd say Marshfield Tavern is off to a great start!
