Lenihan Intermediate School, founded in 1965, provides English Language Learners and special education programs. The school offers special classes in physical education, art, orchestra, band and music to students in grades five and six. Its core curriculum includes several subjects, such as English, math, science, social studies and language arts. Lenihan Intermediate School operates a media center that houses a variety of encyclopedias, dictionaries, textbooks, magazines and newspapers. The school s parent-teacher organization sponsors several fundraising events and volunteer programs. It employs counselors, dual language instructors and classroom teachers. Located in Marshalltown, Iowa, Lenihan Intermediate School is governed by the Marshalltown Community School District.
