- From Asheville, take I-40 East to Old Fort. Take NC 70 North through Pleasant Gardens to the House. It is located on the right just beyond the intersection of NC 80.
General Info
Built in 1793 by Colonel John Carson, the Historic Carson House today is a privately owned history museum that is open to the public. This historic plantation home is filled with furnishings typical of the upper-class of that period. Exhibits and artifacts describe not only the influential Carson family but the culture and history of the region and state.
