The Engineer's Office is responsible for the construction of roads and bridges. In addition, the office offers property development and dust control services. It is a part of the Linn County Engineering & Secondary Road Department, which employs more than 70 staff members. The department issues a variety of permits and provides information about the county s boundaries and maps. It is governed by the Linn County in Iowa, which spreads across an area of over 720 square miles. The county has a population of nearly 200,000 people. It operates an administrative services department that offers clerical support and coordinates with other departments.
