Dr. Shanil Harkins is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and has a special interest in both Esophageal Disorders and Pancreatic Biliary Disease. She has been practicing since 2014 and is fluent in Spanish and English. Dr. Harkins received her Bachelors in Science at the University of Puerto Rico as Magna Cum Laude. She earned her Doctorate of Medicine with Clinical Honors from the Ponce School of Medicine. Dr. Harkins completed both her Internal Medicine residency and her Gastroenterology and Advanced Endoscopy Fellowships at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. She has special training in Advanced Endoscopy techniques as well as ERCP, Tumor Ablation and High-Resolution Manometry. Dr. Harkins has participated in a number of Academic Research Studies. She has also earned honors and awards to include Elected Member of the USF Gastroenterology Clinical Competency Committee, USF Internal Medicine “Resident of the Month”, and Former Miss Guayama, Puerto Rico.
