Located in Marietta, Ga., Lockheed Elementary School is a part of Marietta City Schools. The school provides general academic programs to more than 800 students in prekindergarten through grade five. It conducts classes in language arts, math, science and social studies. It offers a variety of extracurricular activities, such as art, music, and technical and physical education. Lockheed Elementary School also operates a band, choir and student council. The school organizes field trips to several educational and cultural destinations. It offers Title 1, accelerated reader and English for Speakers of Other Languages programs. In addition, the school provides special education to gifted and talented students. It operates a parent-teacher association that conducts various fundraising activities, including book fairs, academic competitions and cultural festivals. The school features a cafeteria, writing laboratory, music room, and library and media center. Lockheed Elementary School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
