About IREM Chapter 67 Serving real estate professionals who manage all property types, IREM has been an integral force in the State of Georgia, since 1970. We are dedicated to delivering leading-edge networking and educational offerings for every stage of your career, evolving with you to provide lifelong professional development opportunities. As part of the Institute of Real Estate Management ( IREM ) a global organization that serves over 18, 000 members and 500 corporate members worldwide our chapter can connect you with new contacts and business opportunities all over the globe. The IREM Georgia Chapter #67 was founded in 1970. The Georgia Chapter was organized with only a dozen CPM members in the area, and has now grown from a handful of these founders over 30 years ago to an active membership today of over 400. Enhance and support the members' professional competence so they can better identify and meet the needs of those who utilize their services The Institute of Real Estate Management ( IREM ) is your source for education and professional recognition for real estate managers and management organizations. IREM exists to advance the profession of real estate management while helping real estate managers prosper and add value to their companies and the properties they manage. Deborah Westphal, the Executive Director for the Institute of Real Estate Management ( IREM ). Westphal brings to IREM expansive knowledge and background of the real estate industry from personal experience of more than twenty years. Deborah has her Certified Property Manager ( CPM ) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management ( IREM ), an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors . The CPM designation is awarded to real estate managers who have met the Institute's rigorous requirements in the areas of professional education, examination and experience. CPM Members must also abide by a precise Code of Professional Ethics that is strictly enforced by the Institute. In addtion, Deborah has maintained two designations, her ARM status ( Accredited Residential Manager ) which she received in 1992. This accreditation was her stepping stone into understanding the true mechanics behind successful site management and the RES 201 class which is offerred to site associates continues to make its positive impact with management companies throughout the nation. Deborah has served on the IREM board of Directors as the VP of Membership for 2007 and the VP of Finance for 2008. She has received numerous honors: from IREM, including Certified Property Manager ( CPM ) of the year for 2007, Accredited Resident Manager ( ARM ) of the Year for 2006, membership team awards with the Atlanta Apartment Association, and a previous company of fourteen years, Lane Company. As a Pillars of the Industry finalist for Regional Manager of the Year, Westphal has a refreshing personality that combines the serious nature of her profession with the joy of helping others and impacting the bottom line. Lane Company had recognized Deborah's achievements during her fourteen year tenure. She had been presented with Business Manager of the quarter, twelve times presented the Star award for obtaining perfect shoppers report scores, holding the company record for the highest renewal rate secured, and then as a Regional Manager, attaining the highest annual effective rent income growth rate. Westphal possesses a special skill set for motivating and training others. She supports and encourages team members and looks forward to supporting the board members to grow the IREM organization throughout the metropolitan area. Deborah attributes her continued success to the individuals she partners with professionally. Encouraging and developing the synergistic force from a groups persistence, dedication and work ethic.
