Cobb County Senior Services, founded in 1972 and located in Marietta, Ga., is one of the departments of the Cobb County government. It operates more than 10 senior centers, including senior day care and multipurpose neighborhood senior centers. It organizes various group activities and recreational programs, such as music, crafts, exercise and special events. The organization also provides programs on computer training, health and wellness, and nutrition. The facilities provided at the centers include pool tables, dance clubs, medical monitoring, nursing care, and personal assistance. Cobb County Senior Services is financed through federal grants, and state and county government funds.
