Have had 281 for years and overall not perfect but not a lot of complaints. Tim has worked to get my upload and download speed. Work from home and pretty satisfied

Slow slow slow, they do not give you unlimited usage for sure. After watching just 2-3 online TV shows, my connection is so slow I cannot even check my email. And they do not always return calls. My internet will be down for 1-2 weeks sometimes before they return a call and then it takes up to 1 week to schedule your maintenance call, which they will charge you extra for when they do arrive. .

I've had many problems with 281 Com. The connection is not reliable and often does not work at all in the evenings and weekends. They do return service phone calls, but will not set up a time to come fix the problem, only a day, and expect you to wait for them all day, and may not show up at all. If you are not home when they finally show up, they may bump you a few days before returning (like they did me). The equipment they set up at my home fails often, as do their towers. I pay an extra $50 onsite fee plus equipment charges(usually $20-$40)every time I pay the internet bill (which is quarterly). Although they treat you courteously over the phone most the time, I've been ignored and avoided when I needed to discuss a billing issue with them and instead they kept sending warning emails that I was over due without ever addressing the problem. They have NEVER returned my phone calls or emails concerning billing. Service men are polite and professional, thus the 2 stars.
