Walmart apparantly "requires" eye exams for contact lenses yearly. Every other place allows for 2 years. A way to get more money from us? According to MN State statute 145.711 Sub 2, they must have a medical reason that is shared with the consumer to expire them early: Subd. 2.Prescription expiration date. A prescription written by an optometrist or physician must expire two years after it is written, unless a different expiration date is warranted by the patient's ocular health. If the prescription is valid for less than two years, the optometrist or physician must note the medical reason for the prescription's expiration date in the patient's record and must orally explain to the patient at the time of the eye examination the reason for the prescription's expiration date So, tell me, do all of your patients have the same medical reason? I will not be going back. I have had contacts for over 20 years and just want a couple new boxes, my prescription is LESS than 2 years old.
