F.A.Q.

• Does waxing hurt?
  There is no easy way to answer this. For some people, it will hurt each time. For others, it will be a walk in the park. All depends on your pain tolerance. However, it does get easier each time you get Wax'd. We have a wonderful numbing cream available for purchase. Just apply a thick layer of the cream 30-45 minutes before your appointment, and you will have a more pleasant waxing! Taking 2-3 Ibuprofen about an hour before your service will reduce pain and inflammation. Try not to consume alcohol or caffeine the day of your waxing service, as it increases sensitivity. Please note that sensitivity may be heightened during menstruation.

• If I am using any medications, should I mention this to my esthetician?
  Yes, If you are using any medications such as Retin-A or Accutane, PLEASE let your Esthetician know as waxing can result in lifting of skin. Some antibiotics may cause the skin to react as well; so, please bring them up to your esthetician.

• How long does my hair need to be?
  For best results, the hair must be between 1/4 and 1/2 inch (about the size of a grain of rice). Generally a good 2 weeks of growth. Please do not trim hair for us.

• How long will it last?
  This depends on your rate of hair growth. If your hair grows quickly, you can expect to rebook each month. The general experience is 3-6 weeks before your next appointment. your Wax'd Esthetician will suggest when to book your next service.

• What should I wear for Bikini & Brazilian waxing?
  Your comfort is important to us. Please dress to your level of modesty. Loose, non-fitted clothing is best. At Wax'd, we strive to protect your modesty, however, to achieve optimum results some access must be given.

• What is a Brazilian?
  AWax'd Brazilian removes all hair including the rear end. However, we can customize according to your liking.

• What is double dipping?
  Double dipping is a practice of dipping the same stick in the wax more than once, thus contaminating the entire pot of wax. Wax'd will NEVER double dip, no matter how many sticks the job takes.

• How do I care for the area after getting Wax'd?
  Absolutely, Positively Do NOT sun tan or use a tanning bed for at least 24 hours. Do NOT take a hot shower or bath the 24 hours after your service.
