I drive by the Manchester branch every day on my way to work, so it seemed like the logical choice to get a replacement for my broken sun room glass. It was a triangular, thermal double pane that needed attention. They open at 8 am, and I was there around 8:15 on Monday, September 10th 2012 to drop off my problem and get a quote on the price to have another one made. I was told that the specialty glass would take a week to 10 days and I was OK with that. ( it seems that they can not do this type of repair on sight ) I was told that they would measure it and call me later that day. I provided my cell phone number and other requested information to the lady who was helping me. I called back later that day around 3 pm, and was informed that they had not yet got to it by would be getting back to me with the quote tomorrow. Tuesday, around 3 pm I called them again , and they said that they were sorry that ( some other person ) did not contact me, and that they would inform that person that I called. Wednesday, around 2 pm, I called again and was informed that they still did not have the quote yet, but would have it later that day. I said that would be fine and since I drive by there twice each day, that I would stop by on my way home from work to get the quote. Wednesday at 3:30, I entered their shop again, and again was informed that they sent out the request earlier that day ( a slip of information ) and that they were still waiting for the fax to come in, and that they would call me as soon as it did. At that point, I began to loose patience and stated that " I have heard that for three days now. " They pointed to the showroom of broken windows and stated that they were busy. ( non of those jobs were there on Monday morning ! ) So I once again had no promise of help with my specialty piece of glass. Thursday morning at 8:30 I called another glass company and asked for a quote on the job of replicating a window in my sun room, and within 10 minuets, I had my quote, and I ordered the job through their competitor. Next , I called Granite State Glass again , and again I was told that they still did not have my quote. I politely thanked them for the motivation to look elsewhere for my business, and informed them that they need not continue to bother with my problem, that I ordered it by phone, all within 10 minuets through another company. Now I may have misunderstood the information that the DID give me, and that was that it would be a week to 10 days to complete. Were they talking about the time it would take them to pick up a phone ? If you have a common flat piece of glass, and you live within the immediate area, then this might be the place for you. If you expect ( as I did ) a bit more communication, then this place seems to me, to not be properly motivated. In these days we live in, it is not always about the lowest price ( a quote I never got ) but more likely about customer relations. We can all decide what worth is defined as when we have something to compare it too. For 4 day's, I never received any phone call from this business, so to me, they will never see me again. I work with over 1000 people, and they have all begun hearing of my dilemma with Granite State Glass. Many echo my sentiment. I have to give them a zero.
