I recently used Woody's service and was greatly disappointed. My impression was they were more interested in milking the service for more money than fixing the problem, thus creating additional unneeded service calls. My first red-flag was Woody was going to charge me $49.00 for admin warranty paperwork for a part that cost $30.00, but have been free due to parts warranty. So, I called in a 2nd opinion; it turns out the problem was the AC unit was out of balance causing the runoff water to go backwards (and leak all over the place), instead of forward to the drainage pipe. The 2nd guy even fixed the safety trap piping that Woody failed to seal properly.

I have used Woody's for general service and recently had them replace my heat pump. They are professional and gave me the best deal.

My wife and I live and swear by Checkbook Magazine, a Consumers Report magazine for the Washington D C greater metropolitan area. They recieved honors for both quality and fair pricing. Even then, you never really know for sure. We have dealt with a number of companies, some rated highly and some average like the company that installed the HVAC system in our newest home. We then tried one highly rated company. They completed the work, but seemed distant. Just wanted to get the job done. I then turned to Woody's Sudden Service. The service call turned into a tutorial on how best to get the most out of equipment. Quite a difference from the hurry up and go from before. Here we have a larger company with a Mom and Pop Store attitude of "Get to know the customer and give the customer the most value for their dollar" which I will tell you is a very fair price. I've been to HVAC school and there are a lot of companies you need to avoid like the plague. Woody's is not one of them.

For fast and courteous service, call Woody's. I replaced my thermostat and blew a fuse on the furnace board one Saturday evening (yeah, not too smart, but I'd done it many times before with no trouble). So a cold Sunday morning, no heat. We had just moved in a few months earlier. Furnace installer said, "Oh, we'll get to you sometime Monday." I will not repeat what I told them. I called a long list of places, most wouldn't come, and most of the others wouldn't promise to (and clearly didn't want to) despite 24-hour service ads. Not Woody's. The technician (a co-owner I found out later) tried three times to talk me through finding the fuse on the furnace circuit board to save me the week-end service call, but yours truly was too dumb to find it. So he came and did it. Of course he had to charge me, but it was great and "sudden service" as claimed. And we had heat. Now we have a service contract with them, renewed, and service remains great.

We have used Woody's Sudden Service several times for repair and maintenance work for our a/c and heating unit. We highly recommend them for their work ethics and exemplary work. Thank you Woody's!
