R&D Engineering is a subsidiary of The Toro Company, a provider of outdoor maintenance, lawn and garden products for home, recreation and commercial landscapes. R&D Engineering manufactures the Wireless RainSenor. The RainSensor has an approximately 300-foot range, comes with a 5-year battery and versatile mounting screws and functions as a multi-function receiver performing such functions as visual status indication, signal strength indication, smart bypass and battery low indication. The product is compatible with any sprinkler and timer control and is adjustable for rain sensitivity. An optional freeze sensor is also available. R&D Engineering is located in Manasquan, N.J.
