- Primary CareSome insurance plans require primary care physician approval for any visits to a specialist (including Urology). Under these situations, your primary care physician must provide the patient with a referral form authorizing specialist care. Our office must receive this completed form either before or at the time of your visit. Without this form, you will be required to either reschedule your appointment or sign a waiver accepting all charges for the visit. It is your responsibility to know if your plan has this requirement.

- Kidney Cancer“I’m 49 years old, have 4 kids and happily married. When I learned of a lesion in my kidney from various imaging tests, I met Dr. Perlmutter through a referral from another Urologist. Dr. Perlmutter sat with my wife and I and thoroughly explained the procedure, assuring he could remove it robotically. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Dr. Perlmutter was awesome and gave me a packet explaining it all. My surgery was a successful robotic left partial nephrectomy. When I saw Dr. Perlmutter in the hospital, I was at a loss for words and thanked him. At my postoperative follow-up visit, he reviewed the pathology results. It was a rare form of kidney cancer called Tubulocystic Renal Cell Carcinoma. Thanks to prayers from family and church friends, he explained that is a less aggressive form of kidney cancer and that he got it all...I feel great thanks to this wonderful group of nurses and my surgeon. Thanks.”
- Kidney Stones“I have been a patient of Dr. Michael Howard since 2000, during which time Dr. Howard has seen me through at least 5 bouts of kidney stones. Due to the nature of my job, I was not permitted to work if there were any kidney stones present in my system. This presented many problems that required special handling and extra assistance above and beyond the normal scope of the Doctor-Patient relationship. Not only did I receive excellent care for the medical conditions that I had, but also for the extra work required to keep me working during these periods. I owe a debt of gratitude to Dr. Howard and his staff for their wonderful care and attention to my needs. I would highly recommend Dr. Howard and The Urological Associates to anyone in need of good care.”

- Laparoscopy“A radiologist had reported that a lesion was found on my kidney and it was “suspicious for renal cell carcinoma or other malignancy.” I made an appointment with the Urologist, Dr. Michael Howard, who comes to our retirement community twice a month. Dr. Howard recommended that the lesion be removed using hand-assisted laparoscopy...It was not cancer and he did save much of the kidney to my relief. From my first visit until the post-operative follow-up visit with Dr. Howard, he has been a man of compassion and concern. He spent time answering all of my questions and never hesitated giving me straight answers. As with others in our community upon whom Dr. Howard has operated, we are all in agreement that his experience and knowledge were key to the successful completion of our surgeries. Thank you Dr. Howard.”
