I cannnot say enough good things about VRCC!! We took our very sick cat in for an echocardiogram on our regular vet's recommendation. The doctor was very compassionate and explained the plan of care clearly, allowing us to ask questions and make decisions without any pressure or judgement. She was honest about the costs and about our kitty's prognosis. Our cat ended up staying for two days and when we brought her home she was definitely improved and there is some hope that she may live in comfort for a while yet. Everyone at VRCC was professional and caring. I found the final bill to be quite reasonable, in fact less than I had expected it to be. I will definitely take any of our cats or dogs needing treatment to VRCC without hesitation in the future.

Horrible customer service! We recently moved to the area and were referred to this vet by our vet in a previous state. The receptionist was not at all helpful and insisted that we be referred by a local vet (separate from RVRCC), even though we were coming from another specialist. Then, after explaining our situation and having records faxed to them, they finally gave us an appointment, only to call less than a day before the appointment to cancel due to a clarical issue. We asked to talk to one of the vets directly, and the receptionist refused. We finally gave up and are taking our business and our money elsewhere.

Pick Virginia Tech if at all possible

I was so excited to take my cat to VRCC and finally find out how to help him. I was told this was the place to go, even though VA. Tech has been awesome to me and my cat in the past, Well after the the most pricey visit, and money does not matter to me when it comes to my cats, but my cat is still the same. They did not even run a CBC..I still have no idea where to turn for help. I am as lsot as I can be!. They did a repeat of my vet's tests at the end of the day. They left my baby laying in a age for 10 hours with no reports back to me.I had a very sick cat 8 years ago, , very similiar problem , VA. Tech took him in and spend 3 hours of undivided attention on him, He went to every specialist in the building. He is still a very happy and healthy cat. If it comes to the choice of helping your friend, choose Tech!! I am telling you this as a real animal lover.

Notably great service experience

Our Lab needed emergency abdominal surgery on Christmas Day. Dr. Trevor left his family celebration to operate on our baby and patiently fielded all of our questions. The staff at VRCC is probably the most compassionate, loving group of people I've ever experienced at a vet. They were always polite and informative throughout my many phone calls at all times of the day and night to check on my dog's condition. When it came time to bring him home, the technicians were hugging and loving on him just like he was one of their own. Anyone who takes such good care of my baby is tops in my book!

unbelievable compassion and care with superior knowledge... they are GREAT!

My Dobie was sent here from Hampton; no one knew what was wrong with him, only that he was dying. Dr Davies and Dr Grant put their heads together and I got my Dobie back. Dr Davies was not satisfied with a path report and she is going to get a second opinion to be certain of the diagnosis. Again .. I would take any animal back there ... even though it was 97 miles each way to visit.

Would travel to Fredericksburg in the future, if 24 hour emergency care became necessary.

Will not treat animal without 50% down. Our little dog died after two weeks of treatment at VRCC, being seen by three doctors. We were told to force him to eat as he had lost 5 pounds, and then another emergency vet was told that pancreatitis was suspected and an ultrasound was needed. You do not feed an animal suspected of having pancreatitis so why were we told to force the little guy to eat. The director refuses to return several phone calls just to answer a billing inquiry.
