Pleasantly surprised! My husband and I visited Bar Harbor on a Saturday night for dinner with my 4 month old. We went early, around 5 and sat in the back at a booth. The waitress came over and took our order...the only strange thing was she claimed to be taking the order with an IPHONE, but she wrote everything on a pad...little strange. The recipe is really well renovated inside and has a great Nantucket feel. We started with the calamari and it was the most tender calamari I have ever had. My husband had the fish and chips and I had the steak salad. Be careful though, the dressing has walnut oil and I have a nut allergy. It is important to mention to your server if you have an allergy that way the chef will make you a similar dressing just without the walnut oil. The bread is ok and the drinks could be larger, but other than that the menu was good. The french fries were also unique...they were small little disks. Would prb. return!

After planning on going to our normal Friday "spot" for dinner and finding out there was an hour wait my husband and I decided to try out the newly renovated Bar Harbor. Before I go on about the food I do want to mention the inavative technology used. The wait staff take all orders via an app on iPods. So don't think the staff is ignoring you and texting. They are communicating with the kitchen and the bar!!! (We asked the manager about this after we saw a server at a table with her "phone") SO COOL!! Anyways back to the food. Without being able to see a menu online my husband was nervous about the selection available because he has proclaimed me a pickie eater. The menu is not big but it had bar staples with with a twist. My husband wanted wings so we ordered them. ( I am a buffalo native and rarely order wings) They past the test, they were meaty and crispy and just the right amount of "hot". I ordered the tuna appetizer and the portion of tuna was very generouse. The only thing I would suggest is a sauce to add to this dish the flavor was a little flat. The steak salad we shared and the steak was cooked perfectly. The best part oft meal was the cup of New England clam chowder!!!!! At $4 it was not only a steal but the best I have had in years. It was so good I ordered a bowl ($7) to go. In conclusion. We can't wait to go back. Too bad it hadn't opened earlier so we could take advantage of the outdoor deck! Great addition Mamaroneck!

They've completely renovated this venue and all for the better! Highly recommended!
