Acme Markets, established in 1891, operates more than 140 food and drug retail stores in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Its stores offer a variety of retail bakery, deli, dairy, meat, general grocery, seafood, health and beauty and pharmacy items. Acme also offers customers specialty services, including film developing, postage and lottery tickets. Acme Markets is the East Coast Division of Albertsons, which is located in Boise, Idaho. In January, 2006, Albertsons was sold to Supervalu, a Minneapolis-based supermarket chain that ranks as one of the largest grocery retailers in the United States.
