- Leptospirosis TreatmentLeptospirosis:Â Bacteria that can be picked up from coming into contact with contaminated water and the urine of raccoons, squirrels, opossums, and other Texas wildlife. Causes liver and kidney damage. People are also able to contract this fatal disease from wildlife and contaminated pets. Given in two rounds at 9 and 12 weeks of age, then yearly thereafter.Â

- Ear Infection TreatmentOur groomers are responsible for only a select number of animals in the clinic. They must be able to understand client desires for patient’s hair coat, able to bathe, clean/pluck ears, express anal glands and trim nails by themselves. Groomers are responsible for alerting the hospital’s veterinary care team if there are patient concerns that need addressed by a veterinarian such as an ear infection, growth or skin rash.

Blood work is separated into Adult (over 1 year) and Senior (over 7 years old). Adult wellness blood work is comprised of a CBC (complete blood count), and a chemistry 10 (liver and kidney values). Senior blood work is comprised of a CBC (complete blood count), a chemistry 10 (liver and kidney values), and a thyroid test.

- Senior Pet CarePre-anesthetic blood work is performed on your pet prior to surgery. Our pre-anesthetic profile includes a CBC, a complete blood count, a chemistry (to test liver and kidney values), and a heartworm test if one is not on file for the past year. For more senior pets or pets with established health issues, sometimes more blood work or x-rays are required before surgery will be approved. This is usually discussed before the morning of surgery.
