Orbital Technologies Corporation began operations in 1988, led by Dr. Eric E. Rice, Ronald R. Teeter and Thomas M. Crabb, having worked together at the Astronautics Corporation of America and the Battelle Columbus Laboratories. The company is divided into two divisions, each led by one of the founders. The larger division is the products division, which develops spaceflight hardware and commercial products and is led by Thomas Crabb. Eric Rice leads the propulsion and advanced systems division, which includes advanced space mission activities. It maintains strong research and development in controlled environment systems; sensors and instrumentation; advanced combustion and propulsion systems; and in-situ resource utilization for advanced missions. Orbital Technologies Corporation is located in Madison, Wis.
