We are independent thinkers that perform our own investment research. Our equity research efforts are focused on identifying and monitoring companies possessing sustainable competitive advantages within their particular industry. These companies represent a small subset of the overall market. We also seek to exploit special investment situations involving corporate spin-offs, reorganizations, restructurings, and merger activities. Our investment portfolios are managed using a contrarian investment philosophy and the holdings are concentrated into our best ideas. We place a strong emphasis on investor education. We firmly believe that our investors can achieve improved investment results by being more informed and educated as to the strategies being employed in the management of their money.
