The Engineering Division is responsible for the design, supervision and inspection of a variety of street, highway, sidewalk and bike path construction. It also performs functions related to city surveying and mapping operations, such as the maintenance of the city's official map, street and utility records; and the management of the Madison stormwater and sanitary sewer utilities, including the design, operation and maintenance of sanitary sewer facilities and storm sewer systems. Located in Madison, Wis., the division additionally reviews land usage changes for public works feasibility, researches and develops services supporting the solid waste management program and prepares various studies related to public works.
