Hawthorne Elementary School, located in Madison, Wis., is affiliated to the Madison Metropolitan School District. The school offers a variety of academic and cocurricular programs to more than 300 students in grades kindergarten through five. It enrolls students from all ethnic, social and economic groups. Hawthorne Elementary School also partners with the American Family Insurance, Oscar Mayer and Covance Laboratories. The school offers various subjects, including reading, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies and music. The school also provides classes in English, library, and computer, and special education. It has a parent-teacher association that focuses on increasing awareness and participation in curriculum and policy development, and enhances communication between home and school.
