The Detroit News voted Salvatore Scallopini Italian Ristorante the Best Italian Restaurant in the 2005 Michigan s Best competition. Established in 1982, the restaurant serves traditional Italian fare, such as homemade ravioli, gnocchi, lasagna, cannelloni, chicken cacciatore and veal parmesan. Its dinner entrees are served with a salad and a choice of pasta, potato or vegetable as a side. Salvatore Scallopini also offers take-out and catering services for family gatherings or corporate functions and can serve up to 200 people. It has restaurant locations in Birmingham, Eastpointe, Flint and Southgate, Mich. Salvatore Scallopini Italian Ristorante employs more than 100 people and maintains a location in Madison Heights, Mich.
