The Georgia Neurosurgical Institute is a group of surgical specialists: Joe Sam Robinson, Jr., MD, Kim W. Johnston, MD, Hugh F. Smisson, III, MD, Arthur A. Grigorian, MD, and Richard A. Rowe, MD, along with Leon A. Hyer, Jr., Ph.D, and M. Ajjan, MD, who conduct state-of-the-art procedures, technologies and treatments of neurological, spinal and cervical disorders, injuries and diseases including back and neck pain. The Institute's primary location of service is in Professional Building of The Medical Center Central Georgia, Navicent Health, at 840 Pine Street, Suite 880, Macon, Ga 31201. The group also operates satellite locations in Warner Robins, Dublin, Milledgeville and Griffin, Georgia. Since its founding in 1954, the institute has kept pace with the rapid advancement in neurosurgery and technology in order to provide the latest and best clinical therapies. The medical professionals at The Georgia Neurosurgical Institute consist of top neurosurgery physicians who have specialized training in neurological disorder diagnosis and neurological treatment. Surgical treatment of these disorders is called neurosurgery. Neurological disorders affect the nervous system, consisting of the brain, skull, spinal cord, spinal column and all peripheral nerves.
