- FillingsA: The general consensus is yes. The American Dental Association, the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization, the FDA and others support the use of silver fillings as safe, durable and cost effective. The ADA has had fewer than 100 reported incidents of an allergy to components of silver fillings, and this is out of countless millions of silver fillings over the decades. However, should you prefer non-amalgam fillings, Dr. Lawson will be happy to discuss available options.
- Resin CompositeOf course, Dr. Lawson can use traditional amalgam (“silver”) for your fillings. But you can also choose from a variety of other options, including composite resins — tooth-colored materials made of glass and resin — that can mimic your natural teeth in translucency, gloss and texture. Best of all, composite fillings not only look better, they also chemically bond to the healthy tooth structure.
- VeneersTeeth that are stained, chipped or crooked — even teeth that should have been straightened with braces but didn’t — can be made to appear “like new” with simple bonding techniques. Custom fit to your teeth, porcelain laminate veneers permanently veneer teeth to mask a host of imperfections. Under ideal conditions, quality veneers can last 20 years.
- CrownsDr. Lawson’s passion and love for dentistry are easy to see. You’ll experience it during your very first visit, when you realize that you are not being rushed and that you have the full attention of the Signature Dentistry staff. Later you’ll spot Dr. Lawson’s perfectionist side as she applies her extensive training and the latest dental techniques to each procedure – whether it’s a filling, or complex crown or bridge restoration.

- DenturesA lifetime of coffee, tea and tobacco can result in unsightly yellow discoloration of teeth (or sometimes an overall gray, dingy appearance). Fortunately, nothing in dentistry is quite as amazing as the dazzling improvements that can be seen with simple whitening techniques. Of course, the most effective whitening is done under the supervision of a dentist. In fact, some do-it-yourself products only bleach natural teeth, leaving fillings, crowns, veneers or dentures noticeably darker.
- Dental ImplantsAfter graduating Magna Cum Laude from Mercer University, Dr. Lawson attended the Medical College of Georgia, where she earned her degree as a Doctor of Dental Medicine. Dr. Lawson remained after graduation to complete a General Practice residency, where she trained further to master more complex areas of dentistry, including dental implants, IV sedation and treating medically compromised patients.
