We know not everyone is excited to go to the dentist so we try our best to make you as comfortable as possible. We feel our office has a "homey" feel with a laid back and relaxed environment. We have confidential private rooms complete with TV's. Sit back and relax and enjoy your favorite movie on demand via Netflix or play a game of Angry Birds to help you pass the time. Dr Carter considers himself a consultant more or less. He will give you his treatment recommendation but ultimately he knows it's your mouth and your money so you make the decisions. We do not bully or guilt you into a treatment you are not interested in.Derrick Carter, D.M.D., a Jacksonville, FL native, graduated from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 1984 and works with all ages (3-103). He opened his Macclenny practice in 2003 and handles all types of dentistry; from simple fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures/partials to implants and oral surgery, with an emphasis on making smiles pretty and white (cosmetic dentistry). Dr Carter and his wife of 36 years, Judy, have lived in Baker County since 1995. They have 5 children; Matthew (34) who is a musician, Donnie (32) proudly served in the United States Air Force and is currently serving the U.S. Coast Guard in Norfolk, VA, Jonathan (19) wants to grow up and be a rock star, and last but not least, twins Anna and Nathan (15). Nathan is already proving to be computer wiz and Anna loves to sing and is learning the piano. You can often find Dr. Carter and Anna at the local pizzeria on Thursdays for Karaoke night.The Carter's enjoy nature and have a vacation home in the mountains of West Virginia. They also enjoy traveling and site seeing and are homeschooling their twins so they can explore the U.S. as a family whenever they choose.
