The Probation and Correctional Alternatives Department is a part of the Public Safety Department of Wayne County, N.Y. The Public Safety Department maintains district attorney and public defender offices. The department also features fire coordination, emergency management and sheriff departments. It offers evacuation, disaster rescue, missing children information, snow emergency and shelter placement services. The Public Safety Department provides jail break, boil water and terrorism alert services. In addition, it offers legal services to individuals who cannot afford a lawyer. The Probation and Correctional Alternatives Department is located in Lyons, N.Y.
