Monroe Electronics was incorporated in 1954 in Rochester, N.Y. and started out as a custom engineering house, designing and manufacturing specialized instrumentation and systems for local industries. The company invented a reliable, precise, drift-free method for non-contacting measurement of static electricity. This feedback electrostatic measurement technique became the international standard for measurements utilized in photocopier research and development, industrial monitoring, sensitive electronic assembly, bioelectric research and lightning warning. The company currently offers a complete line of electrostatic measuring instruments including electrostatic voltmeters, electrostatic field meters, coulomb meters and resistivity meters through a worldwide group of distributors and representatives. In the late 1960 s the company became involved in timed and remote control of processes for various industries. This led to the development of the original high-speed cue tone decoders giving customers the ability to use cue tones to control almost anything that had an audio path to it. All of Monroe Electronics manufacturing, sales and customer service takes place in its Lyndonville, N.Y. facility.
