- DenturesMaxillary wrap-around retainers are your upper retainers, which are removable. You must be very careful when handling your upper retainers, as they are fragile and costly to replace. You are given a special case for your retainer; please make sure you keep them in this case when not wearing it! To clean these retainers, brush them with toothpaste (sometimes with denture cleaner) using warm water.
- Oral SurgeryDr. Scott Nawy was born in Queens, New York and was raised in Marlboro, New Jersey. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from SUNY Binghamton and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Columbia University's School of Dental and Oral Surgery where he received the award for clinical excellence in Orthodontics. He remained at Columbia and completed a three-year dual program obtaining his Certificate in Orthodontics as well as a Master of Arts for his research on the effects of estrogen on root resorption. Dr. Nawy relocated to Baltimore in 1997 to join the orthodontic practice of Drs. Solomon and Isaacs.
- Jaw SurgeryIf necessary, corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery) treats and corrects these abnormalities. Orthodontic treatment may also be used in conjunction with corrective jaw surgery to align the teeth appropriately. The surgical process includes moving the jaw into its proper position to restore facial balance and improve function.
- OrthodonticsBy inserting the Mouthpiece – fitted around your existing orthodontics – and turning on the Activator for 20 minutes every day, AcceleDent Aura can speed up tooth movement by using SoftPulse Technology™. Faster tooth movement may decrease the duration of your orthodontic treatment and can even help to make your orthodontics more comfortable.
- Invisalign OrthodonticsThere's a technology that's (literally) putting a smile on plenty of young faces: the Invisalign® system of clear, removable aligners made especially for teens! If you (or a teenager you know) are a candidate for this treatment, you might find it's the best fit for your lifestyle: It lets you eat what you want, makes it easier to clean your teeth — and best of all, it's virtually invisible.
- BracesTypically, Phase II treatment is normal orthodontic treatment which involves placing braces on the patient once his or her permanent teeth have erupted. The braces straighten the permanent teeth and finish correctly aligning the patient’s jaw. By age 12, most, if not all, permanent teeth have erupted and are in place, which is when crooked teeth, gaps and bad bites can easily be detected. These problems will hardly ever correct themselves, so this is when most parents decide to seek orthodontic treatment for their children.
- General DentistryI have been in the Orthodontic field since 2019 after 3 years in General Dentistry, and I love every day of it. My favorite part of what we do is watching our patients grow through each phase of treatment. When not working alongside the best, I enjoy hikes with my labradoodle, Harley, and spending time at the park with my wonderful son.
