Founded in 1972, Contempora Fabrics is an employee-owned company that designs and manufactures fabrics and related products for the textile industry. It specializes in producing a variety of fabrics, such as nylon, spandex, cotton, polyester, rayon, acrylic, fleece and acetate. The company s products are used in manufacturing swimwear, sportswear, apparel, and women s and children s wear. It offers material research, development, warehousing, distribution, knitting, contracting and delivery services. The company maintains a 150,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and operates over 160 machines, including gauges, minijacks, interlocks and ribs. It is a member of the Southeastern Apparel Manufacturers and Suppliers Association. Contempora Fabrics is located in Lumberton, N.C.
