We would recommend this resort to anyone. This is the 13th year in a row that we have been here and Bonnie and Mark have been excellent hosts every year. Have raised 8 kids and all the ones that are home still look forward to our yearly week stay and Ferwerdas. The cabins are all shapes and sizes from a single bed to a 5 bedroom. The price you pay for what you get is the best deal in the area. It is only a short ways from the Ludington state park, and it overlooks a small lake that is beautiful throughout the entire season. It is an excellent get away for families with children and retired folks alike. It is quiet, close to many different activities, and about halfway in-between Ludington and Ludington state park. I believe we have stayed in 7 cabins of the 16 different ones offered and have enjoyed them all! The salmon fishing is great, and all the fishing in general. They have good dependable rental boats, very reasonably priced. Will definitely keep coming! Thxs Bonnie and Mark! Al

RENTERS BEWARE: This so called Resort is the absolute WORSE place we have ever stayed, quite obvious they haven't put a Dime into these depressed homes in years, our 5 bedroom came complete with dirt, filthy dishes, blood stained sheets, Rust Covered Tub and Shower, Brown running Water, Mildew and Mold Smells. A Tent would be better, however they did have two mice traps to keep the pests under control. We observed the maid cleaning at the end of stays, lift up the covers, staighten the sheets and put the covers back on, only obvious dirty sheets where changed which led us to think WHAT IN THE WORLD HAD WE BEEN SLEEPING ON? We discovered that local boat rental facilities are very leary of renting to people who stay at this location and still call it the Monkey Farm SEE POST: Ludington, MI Visitors' Guide Chicago Reader. Ferwerda's Peaceful Acres . The Ferwerdas have their own zoo, which includes two mature Japanese macaques, short-tailed monkey. (Monkey Quarters now Cottages????)DUMP
