The Peacock House
General Info
Savvy travelers looking for gracious accommodations in Downeast Maine know that Peacock House is THE place to stay. Located in the easternmost town in the US, Peacock House was built by a ship captain in 1860 and and has been a Bed and Breakfast since 1989. The inn has seven well-appointed suites (with king beds) and standard-sized rooms (with queen beds), each with a private bath. There are also four common rooms on the first floor where you can mingle with other guests or find a more quiet place to relax. The outdoor deck is also a welcoming space for our guests to enjoy. The inn is conveniently located with four blocks of shops and restaurants. You'll be greeted each morning by wafts of a delectable breakfast mingled with the aroma of locally roasted coffee. Savor a breakfast that's created to please both the eye and palate. We enjoy providing foods that are locally sourced, including our signature Downeast turkey sausage, made right here at the inn. Experience the rugged coast of the Bay of Fundy with its dramatic 20 foot tides, explore renowned hiking trails, and visit nearby beaches and lighthouses. Whales, seals, bald eagles and Atlantic puffins are among our local summer residents. Campobello Island, the summer home of Franklin Roosevelt is less than three miles from the inn. Lubec is also the home of Summer Keys, an adult music and arts program. Come to Lubec to escape the hustle and stress of life and and to experience "Maine as it used to be" in this authentic fishing village. Visit Peacock House and experience why tripadvisor reviewers have given it the highest quality ratings in the area.
