General Info
Caprock Cafe opened in September 1997, and quickly became a favorite watering hole for the center of Lubbock. When the United Spirit arena opened in October 1999, Caprock Cafe became a convenient spot to meet before or after games and events there. On December 1, 2008, Caprock Cafe opened its second location in Rockridge Plaza at 82nd & Slide. Both locations are Smoke-Free. Caprock Cafe celebrates over 15 years of serving Lubbock's best char-broiled half-pound burgers and cold draft beer. So cold in fact, Caprock Cafe won the Lubbock Avalanche Journal's "Best of Lubbock" contest in 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 as the "Best Place to Have a Beer!" in Lubbock! A fact we are very proud of and never take for granted! Thanks go out to all you Lubbock beer drinkers!

I picked up some food last Saturday night (08-20-11) I ordered the Buffalo Burger with a side of onion rings and also a side of guacamole and chips and a vanilla shake. First of all to the buffalo burger was very dry and cold and rather tasteless even though I arrived exactly at the twenty minute mark as I was instructed. It came with green enchilada sauce in a cup and a couple of pickle slices and onions but they did little to enhance a lifeless burger. The guacamole and chips were actually quite good. The onion rings were tasteless and obviously frozen and not fresh. The vanilla milk shake pretty watery and not good. The whole bad experience cost me around 26 dollars and I could have had a great hamburger for less than half the price if I had driven another two blocks to another family owned hamburger joint.
Caprock Cafe is where to go on Sunday nights for a cheap cold brew, queso, and a big screen TV. Some items on the menu are a little pricey, but you can always split an entree with a friend.
