Cedar Ridge Elementary School, established in 1994, and located in Lowgap, N.C., offers grades kindergarten through five. The school serves more than 450 students. Cedar Ridge Elementary School is affiliated with the Surry County Schools District. Its curriculum includes reading, language, social studies, mathematics, science, music, computer and physical education. The school library has a wide range of books, such as encyclopedias, storybooks, and mathematics and science books and also provides teaching aids. The school also holds behavioral education programs. It has a well equipped computer laboratory. Cedar Ridge Elementary School s sports activities include softball, football, baseball and track and field. It also offers indoor and board games. The school also organizes quiz and has recess and library helpers. It has a parent-teacher association to assist in various school activities.
