General Info

Washington School has been moved into a different Zone for the purpose of registering your child. We are now a feeder school for the Butler Middle School. In addition, students living on certain streets must change schools or provide their own transportation to continue at the Washington. The Superintendent sent home a letter explaining the changes for next year. If you would like more information, please call Mrs. Bradley at 978-937-7635 or 978-937-7646. MCAS testing for grades 3 and 4 will be held from March 27 " April 6 and from May 15 " May 26. Please send your child to school on time and well rested during testing.We have learned many facts about Honest Abe Lincoln and wrote biographies about the 16th president. We began our exploration of 2D and 3D shapes. First grade mathematicians can build 3D boxes, draw 3D shapes, and build a block town.In March, we found a mystery in our classroom! The children uncovered clues and identified suspects to solve the Case of the Missing Hundred Chart. Our top suspect was our favorite art teacher, Mrs. MacPhail!We are heading to the Children's Discovery Museum in Acton, as the launch for our exploration of non-fiction, information books, and writing. [ if !vml ] [ endif ] In math in Room 9, our teacher has been preparing us for the MCAS test. We are learning about proper and improper fractions and our class has been playing fractions fish. We know how to add fractions. Mrs. Sgouros taught us to add the numerator and not the denominator if the denominator is the same in each fraction. You can see fractions everywhere, so look closely!
